Prakash postponed Raajneeti Celebration Party due to absence of Katrina kaif

Katrina Kaif News: Katrina Kaif’s plans to fly down to Mumbai for a day to celebrate the Raajneeti success on June 23 from Spain where she is shooting for Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara have been dropped.

Apparently inclement weather has made it impossible for her to be let off for even a day. Setting aside her habitual work-comes-first-party-later attitude she even requested the film’s producers and director to accommodate her absence for less than a day.

Says a source close to Katrina, “Since Prakash Jha was very very keen to have her down to Mumbai for the bash, and had even made all the arrangements for her flight, Katrina was not willing to give up the idea of attending the function.

She offered to be back in less than 24 hours. Katrina was willing to fly to Mumbai, attend the Raajneeti bash on Wednesday and fly out quickly the same night to re-join the Dobara team the next morning. But she is not allowed.”

The Raajneeti team has a lot to celebrate about. But Prakash Jha wanted no celebration until his lucky mascot Katrina Kaif was available. Unfortunatley Zoya Akhtar’s crew has been facing rough weather ever since they arrived in Spain. Apparently 6 days of shooting had to be cancelled because of heavy rains. And now they need to make up for lost time quickly since their work permits and visas would expire.

Prakash Jha admits that Katrina would be unable to make it to the Raajneeti celebration party on June 23. “They’ve lost a lot of time because of the rain in Spain. I couldn’t dream of having a Raajneeti bash without Katrina. And I had postponed it until her availability. But now it’s impossible for Katrina to fly down.”

Prakash will now record a video message with Katrina and play it at the party. “So she will be with us in spirit if not in person,” he smirks.

Katrina on the other hand tried to sound diplomatic and not disappointed. “It is a big day. And the success of Raajneeti is very precious to me. But I can’t leave the crew in Spain.”

She admits there are lots of unscheduled breaks. Katrina has got one of her sisters, Melissa, to join her in Spain to give her company at break time. Says Katrina, “London is just two hours, so Melissa could join me. Mumbai is in another hemisphere. Flying down is impossible. Please tell Prakashji, Mera party baqi raha.”

Rai also talks about her new Bollywood movie that released today, called "Raavan" - written and directed by Mani Ratnam, which also starts her husband, Abhishek Bachchan.

Tell us about this new huge film called "Raavan" ?
It conjures up the very the very vivid image of a demonic king who had 10 heads. And he was this villain. The other protagonist in the film are Vikram (INAUDIBLE), a police officer. So he is the keeper of the law, the so-called hero.

And there is me, Ragini, who is Dev's wife in the narrative.

And through my eyes, the audience goes on to see that through situations and circumstances, the so-called hero and correct human being and the so- called outlaw, you will see shades of black and white and gray in both of them.

So, really, who are we to judge human nature and decide who is right and who is wrong, to come away with it?

So what did you learn from the film?Because I know the director said I want the audience to make their own decisions. What's your...

Yes, what did you learn?
I learned working in two languages at the same time is really tough.

And there's a good and bad there.

And especially this filmmaker, Mr. Mani Ratnam, is known to make a lot of cinema which well, he struck this fine balance where it will be an entertainer, it will be the so-called commercial format of an Indian film, and, at the same time, he brings an immense sense of realism to his narrative.

"Bollywood movies don't seem to do well in foreign markets, whereas Hollywood movies do really well in India."

Do you agree with him? You're in London so I know you're going to disagree with him.
No, no, no, no, no.

Because of
No, it's not because of this. I think people need to be a lot more of their homework before these statements are made. It isn't true that Indian movies don't do well outside of India. One in six is an Indian in the world population, as we put it and put it mildly.

In terms of English movies doing well in India, there are many that do well and there are many that don't necessarily do great business at all.

And I can say that for a fact because when I have had worked and, OK, yes, very few English movies. But from their perspective, I've heard first person that India is a market which is very unpredictable for them for English movies. It could do great business or it could be just a regular center. So it is very unpredictable.

"If you could choose one Hollywood actor or actress to work with in your next film, who would it be and why?"
A tough one, simply because I have never been good with these favorite questions, as in favorite film, favorite director, favorite actor.

So it does feel good in terms of the body of work and the people I've been working with. But, you know, this is ocean. Look at the world's population. There are so many women out there I still have left to assay. So it's as long as I have good work coming my way and I enjoy doing what I'm doing, I'm going to be here still, you know, doing what I do.

You know, this wasn't an exercise in a statement when we got married, it was just that Abhishek and me, we loved each other. We got the blessings of our families and which is great. And here we are married today.

Yes, we do recognize and if we didn't, we're reminded on a daily basis that, yes, this is a family of very established actors and personalities on the public platform. So, yes, my father-in-law, my mother-in-law, Abhishek and me all belong to this world. We do what we do and we do have an incredible amount of love and support from a very huge and vast audience out there. And thank you each moment.

But having said that, really, this wasn't a statement making alliance.

In recent years, Kareena has quite often gone to join Karisma in Delhi when the elder sister was staying in the capital with her husband.

But this time Kareena is trying to focus on Saif's project. "I love the title 'Agent Vinod'. It's the coolest. We've already started shooting for it. We leave for Tangiers in Morocco on June 22 for 20 days."

Bipasha Basu faces problem from Censor Board towards Lamhaa!

Bipasha Basu News: The Censor Board had initially rejected promos of Lamhaa and the revising committee insisted on the word sabse (most) being deleted from the line, Duniya ki sabse khatarnak jagah Kashmir (Kashmir, the most dangerous place in the world) and farji (fake) from the term ‘farji elections’.

“Censorship problems were expected with a film like Lamhaa,” says the film’s lead actress Bipasha Basu, who plays a Kashmiri Muslim activist in Rahul Dholakia’s film.

The film is yet to be passed, but Basu hopes that the censors will be sensitive, since the film is about Kashmiris fighting for a life free from the shadows of guns. “It doesn’t talk about India-Pakistan politics but about local politics. It’s about an 18-year struggle. We’re open to suggestions from the Censor Board, even if it means tweaking the film a little,” she asserts, admitting that she can never imagine living in the Valley.  “The place is outrageous, the condition of the women over there is scary, even if they come across as fiery,” says Basu. “There are no Kashmir ki kalis (beautiful women) there, except tourists who dress in traditional Kashmiri clothes for photos.”

She adds that she didn’t take lessons in Urdu for her role. “I only learnt a few words, like everyone else,” she says. “We speak Hindi and not Urdu. That would have been difficult for the average viewer to follow.”

Shahrukh Khan News: The third Sunday of June is marked as Fathers’ Day and is celebrated all over the world. Why celebrate a Fathers’ Day?

A man with all his virtues and moral values nourishes your development. He spends his hard earned money on you so that you get a better education as well as better facilities in all aspects of your life. But he never asks you anything in return for the money and love that he has showered on you.

Why? Because he is your father. So, why not make him feel special for at least one day? Let us take a little time from our busy schedules and dedicate the day to this great man in our lives.

The Baadshah of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan also has a special corner for his father, who is no more now. He starts by wishing everyone a Happy Fathers' Day! Then he quotes a beautiful line, “Any man can be a Father but it takes time to be a dad.”

It’s really true that the line means a lot. SRK adds, “Who is Dad? Is he the mess-maker, rule-breaker, risk-taker and the opposite of mothers, who usually acts like the creator and nurturer? But in spite of all these things, dads must be doing something quite right! I am happy to know that most of you have joined me in the ‘Pappu and Pappa’ campaign and have made a move towards being the family man by spending some quality time with your kids.”

King Khan continued, “Father’s Day is our day, to celebrate ‘being a dad’. This day comes with an opportunity to show and convey our love and care. It’s an appropriate platform to look at our children and credit them for bringing joy and happiness. After all, a child gives birth to a father as well. But even though it’s celebrated once a year, it’s the ever after effect of being a father that will keep us connected.”

Shahrukh has rightly said that. But the young children of today also need to realize the value of their fathers. Sometimes, we get so busy in our profession that at the end of the day we just want to relax and have fun with our friends. But what about that man, who have spent years of his life caring for your growth and prosperity?

In the words of Shahrukh, “A father’s role is different to different people so I cannot do justice by trying to define it. But traditionally, we hold the role of being the head of the family, protector and role models to our children. We are definitely the more unpredictable lot for our kids. At times we may have rocked our kids more than their moms and rolled on the floor foolishly to play. Moms and dads are indeed different. And we know we cannot be like the mothers but we do know that we can make all the difference by being right there.

“I understand it’s not easy but I appreciate the effort that’s being put in by all the fathers, as more and more fathers are becoming aware and taking their role and responsibility seriously, turning into great dads. For this moment, I dedicate a song for our special day…..Will Smith’s “Just the Two of Us" which celebrates fatherhood,” he signs off.
